Writing Governance

User Content Ownership

Ownership of user content is straightforward: users retain it. This page states that clearly and describes the narrow license we need to operate the product.

Users Retain Ownership

Users retain ownership of original content they create, submit, or refine through WritingToolsPro. We do not acquire ownership of user writing by virtue of it passing through our systems.

Limited Operational License

Users grant WritingToolsPro the limited, non-exclusive license necessary to receive, process, store, route through AI features the user invokes, and display content back to the user and to collaborators the user authorizes. This license exists only to provide the requested services and ends when the content is deleted or the account is closed, subject to brief backup retention.

No Training on User Content

We do not use user-submitted content to train third-party AI models. Our agreements with model providers prohibit retention beyond what is required for safety monitoring.

Export and Deletion

Users may export their content and request deletion of their account and stored content. Deletion timelines are described in the Privacy Policy.

Collaborators and Organizations

Where users participate in an organizational workspace, ownership and access rights may be governed by the organization's agreement with WritingToolsPro and by the organization's internal policies.
